This week is inflation week, with three key CPI releases scheduled. On Wednesday, the UK will publish its CPI data, with the market expecting a 0.2% increase in inflation to 4.0%. Following a similar trend, South Africa’s CPI, also due on Wednesday, is expected to rise slightly by 0.1% to 3.4%. In the US, ongoing government shutdown disruptions may affect the CPI data release; however, Friday’s print is expected to show a 0.2% increase, bringing inflation to 3.1%.
