Craig Williamson is a chartered accountant by profession and has worked in the financial markets (foreign exchange, commodities and fixed income) industry for more than 25 years. He has worked with corporations, advisors and banks during this time. The three recent roles from 2004 onwards includes various financial markets roles at Rand Merchant Bank where Craig was head of the fixed income, currency and commodity corporate solutions desk from 2008 to 2015. Subsequent to RMB Craig spent 3 years working at Investec Bank and then most recently as the head of financial markets for Southern Africa at Standard Chartered Bank.

Jayson is a derivative and risk expert who has more than 25 years’ experience in senior roles with a number of local SA banks and international banks. He was one of the founding members of Standard Bank’s Gold Desk in 1992 and in 1996, he joined Citibank to set up the local interest rate derivatives business. Later he was head of the commodities business for RMB/Firstrand. At RMB Resources, he was the resident hedging professional for the global junior mining finance business, and subsequently was head of commodity sales: Africa Standard Chartered Bank. He has been involved in the design and execution of some of the largest hedges ever executed. Whilst at RMB an RMB Resources he participated in the execution of many project financing transactions.

Jacques has real world corporate experience in leading the execution and delivery of strategic activities, which includes global M&A and the funding of transactions for both Dimension Data & Nampak Limited. In addition he commenced his career with 7 years in investment banking, initially as an equities analyst and later as a senior corporate finance manager. During the past 25 years, Jacques has successfully managed many corporate finance transactions including local and international acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, private equity investments, IPO’s, BEE transactions and controlled auction processes. He was also responsible for the management of the strategic treasury & funding requirements of Nampak where he actively managed & negotiated with International and local funding partners namely, traditional banking partners, debt capital market investors, US private placement investors & other capital providers. He was responsible for managing all treasury risks and exposures i.e. liquidity, currency, interest rate, commodity and counter-party risk.

Nine is a senior analyst with more than 15 years’ experience in financial services. She was educated in Canada where she articled at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and became a chartered accountant. During her early career as an external auditor, she worked on predominantly global and Canadian oil and gas company audits. Her experience in mining would later continue in Australia as a management consultant where she worked on projects for Rio Tinto and BHP. Nine completed her MBA at Melbourne Business School and graduated with distinction. She subsequently worked as a management consultant specialising in process improvement and organisational effectiveness. Most recently she worked as a senior strategist at Australia’s second largest bank. Prior to joining Bastion Advisory, Nine assisted a South African property developer with the renegotiation of its funding requirements. 

John is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has more than 25 years of corporate and investment banking experience. John most recently worked at RMB for 15 years where he fulfilled various senior roles in the Client Coverage team, which included heading up the team for  five years. In his Coverage role he built deep relationships with his clients and assisted them across the spectrum of their corporate and investment banking needs. This included strategic M&A, debt raising, BEE, FX and interest rate hedging.
